I posted this to the iBob list as well so my apologies for the redundancy: I'm in search of a nylon or plastic type body -- I don't care for replaceable steel pins. I really like the nylon-like models: they don't scratch stuff that they come in contact with and are usually pretty light. Inexpensive is nice but not a barrier to purchase. I wore through a pair of cheap VP's in a year already (the bearings feel like a pepper grinder) and can't be replaced. I prefer the thin bodies (2cm or under) over the old school 3cm BMX types. I like allen key install over traditional pedal wrench fittings ... and yes, I'd like to rebuild them after riding through east-coast salt infused winters, whether sealed bearing or loose ball.
