Even a stable full of more or less expensive customs, plus all the kit --
extra wheels, tires, parts; then the tools; then the clothing, winter and
summer -- add all this up and you are still quite a bit south of, or no
more than eye level with, the price of the average family sedan or F 150.

I realize that you could fill your garage with $10K+ dentist bikes*, but
I'm talking custom Rivendells. I guess that I would have to stretch to pay
$6K for the most expensive of mine.

* I'm being snide. I may be wrong; there may be a good reason why some
bikes cost $10 or $12K, please inform me if I'm wrong.

Patrick Moore, who will do a 20 year review of his Joe Starck custom next
year (and who just had a nice ride on it).
