I’ve been riding derailerless with my wide/low with 8-speed in back for a long time now and only issue is once on a big big curb hop the chain bounced off the chainring. A derailer would have allowed me to shift tge chain back on whike riding I think.
I have the SunXCD but haven’t put it in yet. My cassette and widelow is enough for the riding I do so far. Havent needed to small ring so far. Shifting by foot too dangerous for me.
