Thank you all for your warm regards! I felt so happy to be among like-minded
folks who know the thrill of a very first Rivendell. Also in my inbox was a
note from Christopher Murray, resident of God's Country (that's North Dakota,
where I also hail from), enclosing his Hail Mary credit for use on the Clem
purchase. A sweet and thoughtful gesture that warmed our hearts. Thank you,
Chris, you are too kind. (Kindness and helpfulness are rampant in God's
Country; if you need to have your faith in humanity renewed, you might point
your handlebars north and take a trip through God's Country this summer. Make
sure you hit Diet God's Country, which is Minnesota while you're there.)

My sister and I just got off our 3 way call with Rivendell and D is now the
proud owner of a new Grey Metallic 59 cm Clem L!!! She got him the standard
build with with some fancy touches. Rive will use the copper tape with clear
shellac to dress up those Boscos, and top them off with cork grips. He gets
fenders and the Nitto Big Rear Rack. I added on a Wald basket for his rear
rack, a Captain Hook net, a brass big-hammer bell, and a pair of Sackville blue
mudflaps. Won't D look snazzy out there? We have to wait about 2 weeks until
his bike arrives, do you think we'll be able to bear it? We'll take photos of
the the unboxing and the finished product and the proud new owner and report
back here.

I'll make the pilgrimage to God's Country again this summer, and I can't wait
to park my Betty Foy next to his Clem L.
