The Deacon Patrick gave you the best answer. The HHH tandem and Appaloosa do not share the same fork, the tandems have more clearance.
I have an Appaloosa fork here to compare. Last year, when I was looking at a group of bikes at Riv, I’m pretty sure it was Roman who told me that they try very hard to make the front and rears of all their bikes to the same tolerances.
