Isaac, I ride bikepacking with all my gear weight except water in the rear and love it, including on single track. Handlebars matter. I had trouble with instability with Albatross, none with New Moustach (Albastache). I experimented with various weight in the front and found I prefer none. Hunqapillar rides brilliantly.
