Don: Re: tubeless versus tubes for goatheads: IME, which is considerable, even Compass extra light Elk Passes (175 grams for a 26 X 29 mm tire) shrug off goatheads with tubes containing Orange Seal. You might not need to convert to tubeless with 35 mm tires.
IME again, tubeless is better for flats only with fat tires requiring less than 30 psi -- the low pressures don't seem to force the sealant through the holes in the tubes; while OS and Stan's work in tubeless tires down to mid-teen psi's.
