I took a little ride last night as a shake down after a few adjustments to
the Clem seat and bars. We've had quite a prolific season for lightning
bugs and I was riding at prime time. After being pelted with their little
carcasses in various spots, one little bugger flew straight into my mouth.
As I reflexively spat, I noticed a distinctly sweet taste. Not so sweet
that I felt a great need to increase the sample size, but surprisingly
sweet nonetheless. Compared to a traumatic experience with a June bug at an
earlier stage in my life, this experience was less revolting and oddly
interesting. This occasions a couple questions:
   1) Who knew that a lightning bug would be so sweet?
   2) Are there other tasty flying objects to be recommended?

LeRoy (I think there's still something between my teeth)
