Max,

I tried converting a 1985 Trek 400 to 650b using the Tektro 559 brakes. I
filed down the slots on the front to get them to work (barely). In
retrospect I should have tried the DiaCompe 750 long reach center pulls
which have 78mm of reach. Those brakes get mixed reviews but they sure have
the required reach!

Best of luck with your conversion.
