Last stop before hub replacement... :)

So my Saluki developed a distinct rotational chirp about 2 weeks ago that
rapidly became all the time and getting louder. It happens all the time,
pedaling and coasting, when I'm on the bike, but doesn't present in the stand.

Before deciding it was the hub I took off the rear brake, bag, rack and triple
checked the fenders... I'm 99% it's the hub.

So with a new to me set of park cone wrenches (the double sided ones) I broke
down the axle, removed and degreased everything. No obvious signs of damage to
any bearings or the races. After everything was fully wiped down and re
greased I installed the same bearings and reassembled.

Same chirp iron initial ride. I swapped the cassette and played with the axle
tension... Same result.

I suppose I could replace the ball bearings but other than that I'm at a loss
and mentally pricing out a new sealed bearing wheelset sporting pacenti rims.

Before I go that day I wanted to poll group in case I've missed something
obvious.

Thanks!

Tony
