I just looked at the medium vs. the Bagabond as I need a new saddlebag for my Hunqapillar. I went with the Bagabond for its larger capacity but similar footprint, so I still have room for tent, sleeping bag, and pad on the rack behind it. Obvious differences for you include no kangaroo pouch or side pockets with the bagboy.
