Hello Joe, I want to thank you greatly for your offer as it is one heck of a deal. Unfortunately though I’m going to have to pass on it. While it’s a great bike, I just don’t think I’m ready to deal with disc brakes and gravel-grinding type bicycles. I really enjoy the simplified ethos of Rivendell and after being fortunate enough to own one, I don’t think there is any other type of bike I would prefer. Besides them fetching a decent price in their own right, I’m hesitant to try and source a cheap(er) Bridgestone, Miyata or stumpjumper that I would riv out only because it would end up being ~25% the cost of a Rivendell and I would rather put the money towards that. Either way, I’m hoping to find a used riv that I can snag or end up buying a frame new and slowly building it over spring and summer.
