This is maybe the best rack to use on the same hillborne with V-brakes. 
Depending on the v-brake you just need to get the tomestone fiving board 
into the fork crown hole. I suggest going over the brake cabling.

I've also seen Nitto canti racks as well, but that is more variant 
depending on brake arm lengths etc.
