Thanks, George, that’s kind. ❤️ No one was more disappointed in me than my high school English teacher when I arrived at my university and checked the box “nursing major.”
I do enjoy writing, and maybe I should have found a way to get paid for it, but nursing has been really rewarding, too. I’ve been there for a lot of people’s worst days, held a lot of hands, and stopped a lot of bleeding. And laughed - you can laugh with people in the most unlikely of circumstances. Nursing was terribly satisfying, unbelievably difficult and, man, it was fun. I don’t have any qualifications on paper for a writing job now, so I’ll just do amateur work for free about the Clems in our lives.
