I prefer the included mounting hardware from Wald. It's solid, requires no rack, is easier to install (i.e. non-invasive to brakes, no diving boards & bending struts), supports just as much weight, and is way cheaper. I always thought the reason to go with the rack is that in theory it can look cleaner, but in practice I'm supposed to loop a strap over the handlebars anyway.
