The cable pull on 10 speed Camp ergo shifters matches the spacing on 8 speed ShimaNo splined cassettes. Many Monstercrossers have use this combo because they prefer the Campy lever feel to the ShimaNo and you don't have that messy cable to deal with. ( shift cable is routed under bartape). And ShimaNo and SRAM and IRD all make the big tooth touring cassettes. (Campy's biggest is 29t).
