As a former Saluki owner I feel conflicted about weighing in here. That said, 

My $.02 - The bikes are aesthetically top notch. They have so many well 
considered details. Functionally, the earlier model with canti-lever brake 
posts is a must have. That model allows for slightly bigger tires with fenders, 
and easier front rack mounting.
