I think Patrick brought this up not too long ago, but looks like there is a 
nice quantifiable map (down to zip code) about how long we have been 
getting dangerous air days in the last couple of years.

To say it mildly, its pretty depressing for everywhere except the east 
coast it seems, with major jumps in smoke days (close to 200% average 
increase in CA), just a part of the new normal I guess. As an example, we 
had an average of 57 days where its too smokey to ride in Sacramento over 
the last 5 years...that's almost 20% of the year where you really shouldn't 
ride.
