I second the Cyclemeter suggestion. I was given a tip that if you operate it in 
airplane mode it saves battery use. Also, you can set it to automatically 
upload to Strava with the paid subscription which I highly recommend. And you 
can upload routes as well though I have not tried to do so yet. I did the back 
pocket thing for a long time - I finally got the quad lock and it’s pretty 
great even though it does disturb the “clean” cockpit.
