Oops.  Posted that before I was done.  Anyway, a cursory search finds all 
sorts of group ride options.  My favorite event name is Tour de Troit.  
Makes me wish I lived in the midwest in many ways!  I bet you find so many 
bike-minded friends, you'll wonder why you didn't move sooner.
