"I just don't understand what people have against front mechs." A dropped chain if you're lucky, a chain jammed between the chainring and chainstay if you're not. Plus eliminating it gets rid of the need to trim, a thing that always annoyed me. My Riv Custom is 1x, no more front derailers for me.
