I see many Saddlesacks and Happisacks resting squarely on rear racks. What
do users do to prevent damage to contents (quart jars of pickles, laptops)
from the jarring over severe bumps with the rack transmitting the blow
through the bottom of the bag to the contents?

My Carradice trunk bag is made with a thin, firm foam cushion sandwiched
between bottom outside and inside. Has anyonh rigged up something like this
for Saddlesack or Happisack that does not materially reduce volume?
