For those of you who are running RD-M960s with friction shifters, are any of you using them with a Road Link and a cassette with a 40t or larger big cog? I'm running this exact config on my Homer and I'm not pleased with the shifting experience. Shifting to the middle rings results in what seems to be two clunks (gear slipping?) before fully engaging. The ride is also somewhat rough on the higher gears. I haven't tried switching to a smaller cassette and ditching the Road Link yet, but i'm tempted to switch to a top normal RD first.
