The 47 is the previous geometry, I think. I compared the two on Bike Insights and there is quite a difference, more so than you'd think between the sizes. The 47 has much less stack and the top tube is about 4 cm shorter. I'd hold out for a 50 in the newer geometry if I were Leah. The newer models can handle wider tires too. Doug
