I live in Oslo, Norway and riding with fenders is an absolute must, if you 
use your bike with any sort of regularity, such as commuting. I commute all 
year round, which means a whole lot of rain, sludge, snow and ice - so 
yeah, no getting around fenders.

I also happen to like the way a bike looks with fenders. I have my Sam 
fendered up with silver SKS bluemels, and happy with them. I'll have to get 
some mudflaps, though, now that the weather is getting wetter.
