i'm curious to know why this is a point of contention? surely the added ability to adjust from the downtube is a pro. When I got my Sam I wished the the bosses to be the adjustable cable stop kind, but Ultimately it was fine and doesnt make that much of a difference.
Now that they DO, I prefer mine, only because it still has the original (or second original) seat tube cluster. enquiring minds...
