I have no direct awareness of the sun tour shifters you reference. But I
would *not *expect them to work. Sorry.

I've used nothing but Shimano BS-64 (8-speed lives!) shifters on Thumbies.
But I know that Paul Component went to the trouble of producing a "Silver
Shifter Adapter" to allow the Rivendell Silver shifters to be used on
Shimano-style Thumbies. I have the *impression* that the sun tour shifters
you're talking about are *more* like Rivendell Silver shifters than my
Shimano shifters, based on what I've read on the Rivendell web-site, and
probably *not* work without some similar "adapter" for Thumbies, new or
old. Paul Component have since discontinued making the "Silver Shifter
Adapter" (don't know when that happened).

Yours,
Thomas Lynn Skean
