I don't think I have a long ride report in me, except to report that the first leg of a potential R12 is complete. Yesterday I did the SFR Dillon Beach 200k. By SFR standards it was flat as a pancake with "only" 7100 feet of climbing. The field was ~80 riders. It was cool but not cold, bottoming out in the low 40s and topping out in the low 50s, and there was unusually little wind along Tomales Bay. It's possible that riders finishing close to the time limit may have gotten a little rain but I was spared in my 10:24 time. Given my fitness level and weight, I think it went about as well as I could have hoped for. I got a lot of good handlebar meditation in. I actually rode my rando-bike for a change and it did very well. All my contact points were good, but I definitely feel the 128 miles in my body today. I'm going to try to get out on a short flat wandrer ride this morning, before watching football on the couch.
I saw several Rivendells on the ride, and an unusually high percentage of the field sported traditional frenchie handlebar bags and fenders.
