I got a very lightly used Burley trailer off craigslist to cart my 40lb dog. It has a simple hitch to attach the the rear dropout and packs pretty flat when not in use. It took us both a couple rides to get used to it, but eventually she would run right inside even before I finished setting it up. I put one of these on the bottom to make it more comfortable: https://www.petplay.com/products/chill-pads
My girl is about 14 now, and not walking too well. I've been thinking of pulling the trailer out and taking some shorter trips to parks. It'll be good for us both.
