hi, all.

there is a family of stems referred to as the "dirt drop", usually
designated with MT-10 or MT-10DX (i think the DX indicates a duller silver
finish vs a shinier silver finish).

there is a separate family of stems referred to as the "periscopa",
sometimes designated with FU-82 or FU-82DX.

both famililes are "forged aluminum", according to the nitto catalog.
assuming i found a stem amongst them that seemed an appropriate size and
shape, why would i choose one family over the other? is there some
particular non-size non-money reason to avoid a periscopa? (in my
experience periscopa stems are cheaper, but not in a "lugged nitto vs soma
shotwell" way.)

Yours,
Thomas Lynn Skean
