I actually had the same notion. Those holes are there for a reason.

First idea that jumped to me, could be bad :)

Custom two plate sandwich around the FMBCH with three holes, Two fasteners through the FMBCH and one for your light. The two mounting points keep the mount from dropping onto the front wheel after doing wheelies. Could easily be adapted to a single plate (keeping the three holes) but two feels better from a symmetry standpoint.

Most hardware stores have some version of aluminum sheet in stock (~1/8"). Or if you're handy with CAD could use sendcutsend for about 30$

Oh could also use some bent wire to achieve the same thing, a la Alex Calder sculpture.

Out of ideas for now!

Greetings Earthlings!

I am attempting to configure the dynamo setup on my Bombadil (epic build thread to come in a month or two) and am hitting the following creative constraints on a mounting point for my light:

1) Fork mounted cable hanger
2) no desire to run on the bars
3) no desire to run a front rack (I will be installing and uninstalling a tubus tara as overnight trips emerge but not leaving it on generally)

Fortunately, there are these eminently practical top-of-fork-crown bosses that are nicely positioned at dynamo light height. In fiddling around with various doo-hickies in my shop, it looks like a disc brake adaptor might be just the thing. I will share with you all what I have bodged together...it is none too cute, although stripping the anodizing might help the look a little bit.

I am simply unafraid of running something this ugly...but perhaps that is a lie. Please let me know if you think of something more elegant!

peace,
