Nice Hillborne! I have those same Shimano shifters and that same rear 
deraileur in a short cage that I had to fix/modify when the secondary 
shifter spring anchor broke. Had several sets of these shifters I think I 
got from my old bike shop years ago. Kept one and sent rest to Rivendell.
