I guessed they might work. I got 1.35 Kojaks (probably 31-32 mm actual)
under SKS fenders on mine, without a lot of clearance, so I expect that you
might squeeze them in. Too bad I sold it!

I can get true 38s (559 bsd) on the Joe Starck but if the size creeps up
even a couple of mm they’ll be skimming the chainstays. They clear single
pivots just fine.
