Now that I’m retired I’m more willing to go on overnight bike trips and 
overnight kayak trips.  Camping is not my thing and if I go on overnight 
bike trips, I’m more likely to stay in a hotel. On Kayak trips, you stay 
where you pull the kayak out of the water.   So those bike days when I’m 
forced to sleep in a tent, as well as the Kayak camping I’ll be looking at 
tents. For biking, I know, shorter pole size and lighter tent is important. 
 Neither of these are important for Kayak camping. I just mentioned the 
Kayak need because it’s more likely that I’ll use a tent for kayaking trips.

To test out camping, last year I borrowed a tent from a friend and used it 
on two separate camping trips.   I like the tent for its portability and 
lightness and water proof abilities (it rained the entire trip on my first 
overnight and it
