The Schwalbe G One in 2.35 is a super fast rolling tire and is about as close as you’re going to get in terms of a serious tire close to your size. Vee makes a 2.8 inch tire that is specced on jones bikes. They aren’t bad tires at all but they’re super heavy. I have the G-one predecessor, the 2.35 Scwalbe Super Moto, on my Clem, and the 2.8 V Speedsters on my Susie. The Schwalbe are way faster and more enjoyable, and have plenty of cushion and traction for any kind of riding I do (which is as much off-pavementvas on). The speedsters have a lot of self-steer and are heavy, as David notes. I keep meaning to replace them, but don't, so I just don’t ride that bike. I'd try the G-one before wasting time and money on anything else.
