Ron, I'll be up for an S24O come September, as I'll be traveling on business and family vacation most of August. And, as long as riding distance and average speed isn't planned to be excessive... :-)
I'm going slow and progressing even slower in order not to overdo it and get burned as has happened in the past. Let me know what you have in mind and we'll make plans. My goal is to do one S24O each month with my 11 year old son, and one of my daughters if she is so inclined. Maybe both if I'm really lucky. That means that it cannot yet be a "long distance" riding event, but we'll get there eventually. We did an overnight camping trip in Angel Island on July 5-6 and it was amazing. Earliest Saturday night I was able to reserve a campsite there is Nov. 20... I'm just trying to figure out if there are other places where you don't need to reserve so far in advance for a Saturday night. Our first experience was in China Camp but it was mostly driving. We rode our bikes from the parking lot to the campsite. We had fun but it was really a test for the camping experience than the cycling. Let me know what you have in mind.
