I've been collecting (hoarding?) the bigger Schwinn Paramounts w/ 531 tubes.
 I think the word that's commonly used is planing, that elusive, mythical
quality of  just going like stink when you want it to, of having a good day
out there when you really can't think of a reason why.... These bikes have
it.  But I also have a Serotta Rapid Tour which has a smaller top-tube but
everything else is a bit oversize.  Rides like a Buick but jumps in
accelerations like a Cannondale-every pedal stroke seems to go straight into
the road. It's a little weighty, and if I could get that performance built
by Ben, in the exact same dimensions, but made fron CF (gasp!), I'd do it in
a minute.
