nitto measures their stems from center of the quill to center of the
clamp, through the extension extension. meaning not the top of the
stem, but from the center of the quill the actual center of the clamp
itself, or the circular part the bars go in. according to pythagoras
it should be shorter than measuring on the top. measure it that way
and it should be accurate.
