Sorry. I meant at the drop out on the fork. Earlier versions of the Sam (all not made be Waterford? Not sure about that) have one eyelet on the rear of each drop out on the fork for mounting fenders. The later, current Waterford built Sams all seem to have a second eyelet on each fork dropout in front of the fork blade on top of the drop outs for mounting some racks like the Pletscher Mouse Trap. My older, Taiwan built Sam doesn't have these double eyelets on the fork dropouts. To mount the Pletscher rack on the front of my bike, I would need to use a clamp kit that Riv sells separately to attach the rack to the fork blades. Z has the better, cleaner looking dropout eyelets option. Again, it's not such a big deal to me but it's just this truth that improvements/changes have been made to the Sam H. frame over it's short life. My frame does have mid-fork rack braze ons.
