thanks for the report Bill. I'll probably get a Rapha jersey one of these days and I was thinking the XL for myself ( 5'11" 190). Thats what I wear in Ibex and Woolistic. The thick pads on shorts bug me as well. I find the Garneau pad is nice as well, these days though, I'm hiding mine under baggies. ~mike
