Where was the Big Basin diversion? And what kind of shape was it in? Gayle's is a bakery & deli strategically located two miles north of New Brighton State Beach, close enough so you can ride over and set up at the campground, go to Gayles for dinner, then go back the next morning for breakfast & pick up some sandwiches and treats for lunch-- something I have only done twice. Twice in the last two weeks, I mean. Gayle's superb deliciousness makes it a worthwhile day trip for me too: eighty or ninety miles round trip is nugatory to get to this temple of culinary delights. The boysenberry turnovers are magnificent, and the breakfast burrito with bacon and potatoes goes well with latte for breakfast. OK, I have to admit that I've ever eaten there was wonderful, and I intend to continue my research at every opportunity.
