I love my Hilsen but it tended to shimmy with a rear load on long fast descents. Also, the Silver brakes have served me well but the LHT is solid on descents and the cantis seem to offer a little better stopping power. I've really been impressed with the LHT. I haven't needed to fully load it (front and rear panniers) but I've ridden it with front biased load and a rear biased load and it's been fine. I'm still not sure what I'll do for the tour in terms of baggage. I'll either go small Ortlieb panniers up front with a stuff sack on the platform of the rear rack or just use the big panniers in the rear. I like the way it feels on descents with the front panniers, it feels a bit more solid but the rear big panniers are easier to load and distribute the weight.
I say go for a Hunqa. I had every intention of getting one earlier this year and I kept putting it off then some other expenses came up and I just went for the LHT which has been fine. I wouldn't mind losing one of my other bikes next year--Cross Check or Quickbeam and replacing it with a Surly Troll. --mike -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
