I have ridden about 300 miles of pavement and gravel roads on the new
26 x 1.75" Compass tires. They replaced 26 x 1.25" kevlar folding
Pasela's on my bike which I liked just fine. The Compass tires do ride
very nicely... smooth and more secure feeling on gravel. Obviously an
apple and oranges comparison based on the volume differences. When I
mounted the Compasses, the casing was supple and felt thinner than
other tires I have mounted. I have not tried the 26 x 1.75" Pasela but
will probably try a pair of those next just to see if they can come
close to the Compass at less cost. That said, I have really enjoyed
the Compass so far and don't mind supporting Jan and BQ for the good
work they do.
