Hi All,

I picked up my AHH back in March of this year and have been enjoying
it ever since. I now live in Berlin, where Homer serves both as my
daily commuter and country bike. It's mostly the standard build: bar-
end shifters, Nitto everything. There are a couple of details that
stand out, though: the size is 55cm (700c), which Riv offered to have
made for me at Waterford (I was nervous about 650b on a potential
future tour in Eastern Europe), the color is custom (similar to, but
lighter than Imron Harvest Gold), and Mark wrapped the shifter cables
with the handlebar tape from the top of the stem.

I hadn't ridden drop bars for a decade, but after a couple of weeks of
uncomfortable transition, I found them very comfortable. I have an
upper back problem and thought that I would always riding with North
Road style bars, but drop bars have proven not only more comfortable,
but also beneficial -- they really stretch out my otherwise stiff
thoracic spine, and the Noodles aren't hard on my neck at all. Over
the past seven months, I've gradually lowered my stem to ever-so-
slightly below saddle height. I'm still on a short 7cm stem, but I
could imagine switching sometime in the future to 8 or 9.

Here are some long-overdue pictures of the bike, from day and weekend
tours around Berlin-Brandenburg, Flensburg, and the southern tip of
Denmark. The other bike in the photos is a teeny-tiny Ritchey Break-
away (48cm).

Needless to say, I couldn't be happier.

liebe Grüße aus Berlin,
Nicole
