Don't discount the White crank too easily. They are much better looking than the pictures on their web site. The finish is a highly polished black, not the matt black we associate with mt bike & carbon cranks. I hesitated for a long, long time because of the black rings, but after buying them I found both the looks and performance outstanding. And the versitility is huge. I run a 44/30 with an 11-28 nine speed cluster. I then switched to the new Shimano Ultegra RD, which is designed for wide range, compact dbles. This is probably the best shifting bike I have had in 30 years of riding, which includes a number of highly regarded set ups. Here's mine:
