Hey there Peter - 

sorry to be late to the party, but it's been a busy month...

Mark's Rack has done fine and solid mounted with only the struts.  I run the
Country Bag on it, and have packed that bag pretty tightly at times.  Also,
the whole rig sees ripply/bumpy trails frequently, with nary a wobble.
