It was fantastic. Mike is a great teacher, and a master builder, and a great guy, too. I wasn't particularly gifted at welding, but he walks you carefully through the process, and it's a fair statement to say that I built the frame (with indispensable help from Mike). A couple of times when I burned through a tube at the joint, he simply saddles up the torch and repairs the hole so it barely showed, and was invisible (to me, anyway) after filing. It's truly a soup to nuts experience - in the A.N.T Bike and Camp set on my stream, you can see a pic of the pile of tubes that became my bike, and a lot of pics of steps along the way.
The cost is high ($3,000 for the week, including great lunches!), but in my mind totally worth it, and if you want to keep building, Mike is extremely generous with post-class support. And, of course, you end up with your very own custom A.N.T. bike!
