A picture from Ride the Rockies 2012 as we were making the top of Ute Pass. 
I am on my favorite bike, a 1999, Curt-built, road-standard custom. At the 
bottom of the pass we rode 15 miles of dirt road. The Rivendell handled it 
fine even with the 28mm tires, though max fitting 32mm tires would have 
been a better choice. You should have heard the complaints from the 
racing-bike riders.
