I run the marathon racers 1.6 on the tandem and really like them. Great tires, lighter and faster than the panaracers. Jan Heine has a new 1.6 tire out, but I doubt it will save money. Tires may not be a good place to try to save money. Like brakes, you are betting your life on them.
