I will measure it when I get home from work, James. I'm pretty sure it's a
road standard, as the collective mind seems to indicate. Were all 97
frames built by Waterford?

I've transferred over my seat and pedals from my main road Trek. This bike
is set up kinda interesting. It has sealed Phil Wood hubs, Campy crank and
derailleurs, and 105 brakes. Yet cheap Kenda tires (for now). I'm gonna
ditch the yellow bar tape and bottle cages (wtf?) and probly replace with
creamy white to match the head tube. Or maybe a blue, for the all-american
look. It has plenty of scuffs and small scratches on the paint, as to be
expected from a well-ridden bike.

Like I said, I need a sunny day to put some miles on it. But if it works
out as well as I hope, I'll ride the hell out of it. I'm doing my first
RAGBRAI tour this year, and I'm thinking this Red Riv will be a sweet
companion.
